My research focus is on long term effects of burn injury. I have published sentinel manuscripts in the field of burn rehabilitation, including works detailing the barriers to return to work. I have authored chapters on burn rehabilitation in authoritative textbooks in the field. I am Principal Investigator and Project Director of the Boston-Harvard Burn Injury Model System, a multi-institutional clinical and research collaboration between Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital, Massachusetts General Hospital, Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Boston University, and Shriners Hospitals for Children—Boston. We have extensive experience enrolling burn subjects into clinical trials and experience collaborating with Dr. Kazis, Dr. Ryan, and other multi-center projects. As site PI and co-investigator, I will oversee all study activities at Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital and collaborate and facilitate in all recruitment efforts, data collection, analysis, interpretation of data, and manuscript development as well as dissemination activities.
