Abstract: Summarizes 11 studies of eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR) and cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) for posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD).  Finds that EMDR is slightly superior to CBT. Meta-analysis for subscale scores of PTSD symptoms indicated that EMDR was better for decreased intrusion and arousal severity, but that impact on avoidance is not significantly different.
