Librada Callender

Librada Callender is a clinical epidemiologist and research investigator at Baylor Scott & White Research Institute with 15 years of experience in various roles in physical medicine and rehabilitation research. She completed her doctorate in epidemiology and her Master’s in Public Health at the University of Texas Health Science Center. Dr. Callender’s research has focused on neuro-rehabilitative populations (e.g., traumatic brain injury, spinal cord injury, and stroke) across the continuum of care, with topics including health disparities, healthcare utilization, and health promotion. She is a co-investigator with the North Texas Traumatic Brain Injury Model System and Baylor Scott & White Spinal Cord Injury Model System. In addition, she is a principal investigator for a NIDILRR grant for modification of a healthy lifestyle program for people post stroke to make the program culturally and linguistically accessible for Latino persons. Dr. Callender’s research passion is to remove access obstacles for people with disabilities, especially among those with intersectional disparities.
