David Gough is Professor of Evidence Informed Policy and Practice and Director of the EPPI-Centre, University College London. The EPPI-Centre specializes in the development of methods for systematic review, user participation in research and the study of research use. His primary research work includes a study of services for children with a motor impairment of central origin.

David Gough works on both specific systematic reviews and studies of knowledge use and helped develop a MSc course and textbook on systematic review methods. His recent publications include: understanding systematic reviews as part of an evidence ecosystem; the Evidence Synthesis International Position Statement; a study of knowledge brokering and what works centres, and ways to appraise evidence claims. He was editor of the journal Evidence and Policy, a main journal on research use, from 2009 to 2017. He is currently involved in a systematic review of student knowledge exchange and in the International Public Policy Observatory (IPPO) on COVID-19, including a 'living map' of reviews on social science evidence and the pandemic.
