Description: The Journal's purpose is to advance research, clinical practice, and theory in child and adolescent psychiatry. It is interested in manuscripts from diverse viewpoints, including genetic, epidemiological, neurobiological, cognitive, behavioral, psychodynamic, social, cultural, and economic. Studies of diagnostic reliability and validity, psychotherapeutic and psychopharmacological treatment efficacy, and mental health services effectiveness are encouraged.
Articles accepted: We wish to receive only papers in which the subjects are 18 years of age or younger unless the subjects are parents or have been followed since childhood. Regular articles, brief reports, and review articles are considered for publication. Regular articles are reports of original work that contribute, analyze, and/or explain new evidence and data from a sizeable group of patients. They must be no longer than 6000 words (all word counts include title, abstract, figures/tables, and citations). Brief reports include concise research studies, or replication studies, negative studies, or preliminary findings that do not warrant a full-length article. They must be no longer than 2500 words. Review articles (theoretical or critical analyses of the literature) must be invited by the Editor, Associate Editor, or Deputy Editors. Inquiries about potential topics are welcome.
