Annual KT Conference

The Center sponsors an Annual KT Conference for NIDILRR-funded grantees and others, by invitation. Knowledge translation (KT) strategies are used by NIDILRR grantees to share their research with a variety of audiences. KT activities are used to create a change in awareness, behavior, or action on the part of the identified audience. This online conference is designed to address strategies in the planning and implementation of effective and efficient KT approaches.

Do you have knowledge to share that can help others reach various audiences of people with disabilities to inform them of KT activities? If so, we want to hear from you! This year’s conference theme is Enhancing Knowledge Translation: Impact Measurement, Online Strategies, and Technological Integration. Please consider submitting to present.
The submission deadline is April 25, 2025, 12 midnight ET.
Abstract:
This conference will look at different ways to make knowledge translation (KT) more effective and impactful. We seek presentations that will discuss how to measure the success of KT efforts, including involving users early on, working with people with disabilities, and customizing products and outreach to meet user needs. We'll also look for presentations that talk about sharing KT content online, ensuring it's credible, teaching digital literacy, spotting false information, and making sure disability is represented accurately. In addition, we encourage presentations that explore how technology can boost KT projects, such as using digital tools to build online communities, check text readability, and summarize research. We also welcome presentations that highlight the role of artificial intelligence (AI) in creating easy-to-understand summaries, organizing research, addressing AI bias, and writing effective prompts. Join us to discover new strategies and tools to enhance your KT efforts.
