Description: The American Journal of Clinical Nutrition publishes basic and clinical studies relevant to human nutrition, vitamins and minerals, nutrition and disease, and energy metabolism.
Articles accepted: AJCN publishes original research relevant to human and clinical nutrition. Case studies, untested hypotheses, and geographically restricted surveys are not considered suitable for the AJCN. Well-controlled clinical studies that describe scientific mechanisms, efficacy, and safety of dietary interventions in the context of disease prevention or a health benefit will be considered. Epidemiologic studies relevant to clinical nutrition will also be considered. Solicited editorials, book reviews, solicited or unsolicited review articles, invited controversy position papers, and letters to the Editor that relate to prior AJCN articles are essential components of the AJCN.
