Abstract: |
Due to the lack of systematic reviews focusing on patients and informal caregivers in the Knowledge Translation (KT) space, Chapman et al. (2020) sought to provide an overview of the literature on dissemination strategies. By concentrating on patients and informal caregivers instead of healthcare providers, managers, and policymakers, Chapman et al. (2020) aimed to answer the following questions: what are the most effective strategies used to disseminate knowledge to healthcare recipients, and what are the facilitators and barriers to dissemination of knowledge in this field. After searching, identifying, and screening, they included 44 systematic reviews that describe strategies to disseminate health knowledge to the public, caregivers, and patients. By synthesizing these reviews, Chapman et al. (2020) identified interventions that have shown to be effective in improving knowledge uptake as well as identified facilitators and barriers that researchers should be aware of to maximize the effectiveness of KT. |
