Title:

Examining the Impact of Knowledge Mobilization Strategies to Inform Urban Stakeholders on Accessibility: A Mixed-Methods study

Year: 2020
Journal/Publication: International Journal of Environmental Research and Public Health
Abstract: Despite offering many opportunities for people with disabilities, urban areas can struggle with providing adequate accessibility that enables full engagement of these opportunities. Labbé et al. (2020) conducted a mixed-methods study with the goal of developing knowledge mobilization strategies to contribute experience-based findings on accessibility and assess their impact for urban stakeholders. These strategies included an interactive game, a photo exhibit, and videos. Results suggest that the knowledge mobilization strategies assessed in the present study were effective in raising awareness of accessibility issues to urban stakeholders and helped them to provide information and guidance on urban practices.
