Title: Where do we stand on the measurement of research utilization?
Author(s): Estabrooks, C. A.
Wallin, L.
Year: 2004
Journal/Publication: 4th Annual Knowledge Utilization Colloquia (KU04)
Abstract: During this presentation, Estabrooks and Wallin describe the current stance on measurement of research utilization. Specific focus is given to nurses due to their heavy involvement in healthcare. Research utilization literature is reviewed and it is argued that the area of greatest need is during the implementation phase. The existing research is reviewed and includes specific questionnaires such as the Nurses Practice Questionnaire (NPQ) and the Research Utilization Questionnaire (RUQ). Finally, several existing research utilization measures outside of nursing are reviewed.
