Abstract: Synthesizes 10 trials, and finds that, compared to meals alone, oral nutritional supplements improve protein intake and energy. Finds little evidence that specialty supplements are better than standard ones. Studies that investigated effects of changes in clinical care processes are found to report contradictory results.
