Running with Scissors: Cutting the ties of diversity
Running with Scissors: Cutting the ties of diversity

Artist's Statement
The theme I’d like to make art based on is “The best ways to share research findings with people with disabilities, including those from nondominant groups.” I am a runner. I will be using the ideas of running and connectivity to depict the theme. I am a person with disabilities.

Exercise is very important to me. I feel the imagery of a runner connecting ideas to those in my community, is a strong way to show that even those with disabilities can be informed and share their information with others. The art will feature a relay race to show the visual interpretation of passing information forward. Cutting the ribbon to spread the information and keep us all connected will be displayed as well.

Conference artists shared with the Center on KTDRR these biographical statements. The bios represent their choices about how to describe their expertise.
