The Identification of Infinity
The Identification of Infinity

Artist's Statement
I am a curator, painter and musician. My passion is definitely painting. I am a member of the autism and LGBTQAI2S+ communities. There is often an overlap between these two groups. Painting allows me to accept who I am and process my feelings. There’s a lot of misconceptions about both communities. As an artist I try to strengthen awareness and acceptance by bringing our community to places not always designated for us. I think it’s important for the majority to be familiar with those who are different. I would like to make art based on the topic of “the need for inclusive ways of gathering and sharing research”. Over the years the symbol for autism has changed. It is now an infinity sign. The LGBTQAI2S+ community has a flag for every identity. I want to make a painting that combines the flags and symbols of my communities in a way to show others how powerful we are. I think normalizing differences is the best way to share inclusivity.
