Amanda St. Dennis

Amanda St. Dennis currently lives in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. She lives with cerebral palsy, ADHD, anxiety, and autism. She currently holds a Developmental Services Diploma and graduated in 2020 from Carleton University with a Bachelor of Arts Honors degree in Child and Youth Studies with a minor in Disability Studies. She is passionate about issues surrounding accessibility, research engagement, knowledge translation, and disability and children’s rights.

This passion and advocacy work led Ms. St. Dennis to become involved in research in her community. She is a member of CP-Net’s Advisory Board, a co-investigator on the Youth Engagement in Research Project, and the youth representative on the steering committee for the Children’s Healthcare Canada’s Transition to Adult Healthcare Hub. Additionally, she is a co-instructor, content developer, and Accessibility Champion for the Family Engagement in Research course offered by CanChild Centre for Childhood Disability Research, Kids Brain Health Network, and McMaster Continuing Education. Outside of child-health research, Ms. St. Dennis lends her expertise to studies surrounding cerebral palsy in the adult healthcare side of research through the University of Toronto and Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario.
