Linda Nguyen is an Azrieli Accelerator Assistant Professor in Youth, Sibling, and Community Engaged Research in the Faculty of Social Work at the University of Calgary. She graduated from the Bachelor of Health Sciences (Honours) Program, Child Health Specialization, at McMaster University. Dr. Nguyen’s passion for generating new knowledge motivated her to pursue graduate studies, and she completed her master’s degree and PhD in rehabilitation science at McMaster University. Following her PhD studies, she traveled to The Netherlands for an internship to better understand experiences when partnering with siblings and families in research. She recently completed her postdoctoral fellowship training in the School of Physical and Occupational Therapy (SPOT) at McGill University.
In her current work, Dr. Nguyen engages with interested parties (including youth, siblings, families, healthcare professionals, civil societies, and policy makers) in patient-oriented research projects and policy to support children and youth with disabilities, their siblings, and their families. Her passion for engaging with diverse, interested parties is reflected in her roles, as a Coordinator of the Family Engagement in Research course offered by CanChild Centre for Childhood Disability Research, Kids Brain Health Network, and McMaster Continuing Education and as a Co-investigator of the Youth Engagement in Research project.
