Sharon Parmet is a healthcare communications associate with the Center for Rehabilitation Outcomes Research at Shirley Ryan AbilityLab. She manages the research group’s social media platforms and newsletters, and she produces and hosts a monthly podcast called INside the OUTcomes: A Rehabilitation Research Podcast.

Prior to joining Shirley Ryan AbilityLab, Sharon Parmet served as the director of communications for Urban Autism Solutions, a non-profit that works with Chicago public high school students with autism and related challenges. She has also served in public affairs and media relations roles at the University of Illinois at Chicago, the Illinois Institute of Technology, the American mMedical Association, and the University of Chicago.

Sharon Parmet holds a master’s degree in science journalism from Boston University, and she earned undergraduate degrees in biology and English from Skidmore College.
