Nour Elmestekawy is a dedicated healthcare professional with a strong academic background in social and health sciences. She holds a bachelor’s degree (summa cum laude) in social sciences of health and an Honours Bachelor’s degree (magna cum laude) in health sciences from the University of Ottawa. Ms. Elmestekawy’s academic excellence is further exemplified by receipt of the University Silver Medal for achieving the second-highest standing in a bachelor’s degree program within the Faculty of Social Sciences at the University of Ottawa.
Beyond her academic pursuits, Ms. Elmestekawy is dedicated to health equity and social justice, as evident through her extensive volunteer work. For more than 8 years, she has volunteered with Islam Care Centre, assembling and delivering meals to unhoused clients and providing invaluable insights on inner-city health issues and community support systems. As an Eastern Ambassador with the International Development and Relief Foundation, Ms. Elmestekawy advocates passionately for vulnerable populations in impoverished regions, contributing to humanitarian relief efforts and fundraising initiatives to address social determinants of health disparities.
Ms. Elmestekawy’s combined academic, volunteer, and advocacy experiences demonstrate her commitment to understanding healthcare dynamics and addressing health disparities through rigorous research, practical application, and community engagement.
