Julie Burk Smith has been actively involved in the Indiana autism and disability community for 25 years. Her primary areas of focus have been educational advocacy and connecting families with community resources and supports. She has worked for several disability organizations and served as the Director of Individual and Family Support for the Autism Society of Indiana. She is currently employed by HANDS in Autism as a Family Liaison. Julie is married and the mother of four sons and two “bonus” daughters. Her oldest son is on the autism spectrum. His struggles, needs, and achievements have motivated her career path and made her a committed advocate for those with disabilities.
