Narges Abdeahad is a postdoctoral fellow at Holland Bloorview Kids Rehabilitation Hospital and is fully affiliated with University of Toronto, Canada. She obtained her PhD in recreation and leisure studies with an emphasis on applying leisure as a coping resource to empower children and youth. Through an intersectional ecological framework, Dr. Abdeahad’s current research focuses on the barriers and facilitators that racially and ethnically minoritized youth with disabilities experience when they want to participate in structured leisure activities such as organized sports, music lessons, and arts and crafts. Dr. Abdeahad is passionate about enhancing social inclusion and equity of youth with disabilities.
